Dr. Ohashiegbula-Iwunze ("Dr. O." to staff and pet parents) has had a lifetime of being around animals. Growing up, she helped out with their small family farm in Nigeria raising goats, sheep and later, pigs. Her family also had many other family pets. She attended the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1989. She began working in veterinary care in the United Kingdom and then moved to the United States in 1994.
After receiving her Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates certificate for foreign veterinary graduates she received her US veterinary license in 1996. Dr. O. practiced in the northeast before coming to Texas in 2004. She began her Texas veterinary career in 2006. In June of 2012 she opened her current practice under the name Katy Pet Wellness Services where she provided affordable veterinary care. Over time, she changed the name to Katy Pet Wellness Solutions and began offering a wider range of services to her patients.
Dr. O. loves being around pets and views them as the ultimate destresser. She enjoys performing soft tissue surgeries and believes wellness care is as the forefront of wholeness for pets. When she gets the opportunity, Dr. O. enjoys travelling and bicycling. Dr. O. is the mother of two children.
